• Cumbria Therapies will host the Carlisle course for Centre Training International School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from October 2006 depending on demand.  The Diploma course has an option to lead to UKCP registration after 4 years training.  The initial year requires weekend attendance once a month for 10 months. Reiki Training

Courses are offered every few months.

The next Reiki I and Reiki II training courses are scheduled as below:

Usui Reiki I training runs over 2 days and costs £120 to include manual, refreshments, lunch and on-going support after the course. Maximum of 8 people.   May 06 - We have just completed a very successful course introducing 6 more people to reiki - congratulations!. The next course will be Thurs/Fri, 14/15th Sept 2006 - bookings are now being taken - please contact for information.

Further reiki 1 courses are arranged every 1 to 2 months on demand - please contact if you are interested and come along for a chat and reiki taster.

Usui Reiki 2 course runs over 2 days and costs £150 to include the above extras.  Maximum of 6-8 people. The next Reiki 2 course is planned for Thurs/Fri 27/28th July - places are available. Please contact if you are interested in further information.

Huna training courses. Following the talk by Marilyn of Koa Ltd on Huna healing Cumbria Therapies is hosting a course here as there was so much interest. (see www.koaltd.com for general information). Dates are:

Introductory course, Saturday 13th May 2006, - completed.

                               Course 2. Saturday/Sunday 8-9th July 2006, 2-9pm (Sat) and

                               10-5.30pm Sun, £120 - completed.

Course 3. Sat/Sun. 9/10th September 2006, 10-5.30pm, £120

Course 4. Sat/Sun. 9/10th December 2006, 10-5.30pm, £175.

 

Reiki Shares next meeting: Wed 30th August 2006 at 6pm.

Reiki shares are held at the centre every 3 to 4 weeks in the evening so that reiki students and reiki practitioners from any reiki discipline can meet to share experiences and supervision, and to give and receive reiki treatments with each other. If you would like to join us we'd love to welcome you to the group. A nominal contribution of £2 to cover heating and refreshments is requested. Contact Marion to be added to the mailing list.

Special Offers and Taster Sessions

Reiki Awareness Week  10-17th June 2006
Along with members of the UK Reiki Federation we organised free reiki taster sessions at the Centre and in local organisations during this week and raised £200 for Eden Valley Hospice. There will be further free tasters in November to support National Stress Awareness Day. Watch this space for more details and please ask if you are interested in offering reiki sessions in your workplace.

 

Hypnotherapy Discussion Group / Peer Supervision

Next meeting TBC - taking a break.
As well as internal supervision meetings for Cumbria Therapies and Esk Consulting therapists/coaches, we hold monthly networking open meetings for practising hypnotherapists. Most of our members are registered health or social care workers e.g. nurses, doctors, social workers etc. The meetings are an informal way for us to share and support each other and provide peer supervision of our practice. This is an important part of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which is a requirement for our registration. Marion is also very happy to support individual therapists who need to discuss issues in their practice outside of these meetings. If you would like to join us you will be made very welcome.
A nominal contribution of £2 to cover heating and refreshments is requested.

Room Hire

Due to the increasing demand from both clients and therapists - we commissioned a new treatment room at the centre in January 2004. This not only allows us to treat more clients but it also allow us to start meeting the demand from local therapists to work at the centre. Informal applications are welcome from state registered health and care professionals who are practising complementary therapies independently.  Ideally we are looking for therapies that we do not already offer in order to widen our provision for clients.

You can book a room by the hour, 1/2 day or full day.  If you are looking for hire on a weekly basis please contact to discuss your needs. There are a number of options available depending on the amount of time you require the room, the charges you make for your therapy and whether you wish access to a telephone, internet or office support services.

You need to be fully insured for your practice, committed to continuing professional development and happy to be a part of a peer supervision group within the centre or elsewhere.
